All-on-4 replaces an entire upper or lower arch of missing or failing teeth with a fixed set of teeth supported by four implants. In many cases, a provisional arch can be attached the same day the implants are placed.
FULL-ARCH TREATMENT
All-on-4 is a full-arch treatment for patients missing most or all teeth in one jaw, or whose remaining teeth can't be saved. Instead of an implant for every tooth, four implants support a single fixed arch.
Two implants are typically placed toward the front of the jaw and two toward the back, with the back implants often angled to make use of available bone. This approach may reduce the need for bone grafting in some patients, though your dentist will confirm what your case requires.
THE PROCESS
From the first scan to your final arch, each stage is coordinated through our Los Angeles office so you know what comes next.
Your dentist examines your teeth and gums, takes a cone beam CT scan and digital scans, and reviews your health history to confirm whether All-on-4 is a good fit.
Implant positions, angles and the shape of your new arch are planned digitally, and you receive an estimate. Our implant cost and financing page explains how fees are set.
Any remaining failing teeth are removed and four implants are placed under local anesthesia. Sedation options are discussed at your consultation. In many cases, a provisional arch is attached the same day.
Over the next few months, the implants bond with the jawbone while you wear the provisional arch. A softer diet during this period helps protect the healing implants.
After healing is confirmed, your final arch is made from durable materials and attached to the implants, with shape and shade refined for a natural look.
Your arch is maintained with daily home care plus regular professional cleanings and checkups to keep the implants and gums healthy over time.
ALL-ON-4 VS DENTURES
A conventional full denture rests on the gums and is held by suction, the shape of the ridge, and sometimes adhesive. As the jawbone changes over time, dentures may loosen and need relining, which can make eating and speaking less comfortable.
An All-on-4 arch is attached to implants in the jawbone, so it stays in place while you eat and talk and isn't taken out at night. Because the implants sit in the bone, they may also help maintain bone where they are placed.
WHY TRUSTED DENTAL

Each All-on-4 case begins with a cone beam CT scan and digital scans, so implant positions and the shape of your new arch are planned before treatment begins.

Treatment is performed with local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide is available. Sedation options are discussed at your consultation so you can choose what feels right.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Common questions about full-arch treatment, answered by our team in Los Angeles.
All-on-4 is often considered for adults missing most or all teeth in one jaw, those with teeth that can't be saved, or people unhappy with a loose full denture. Candidates need enough healthy bone in key areas and general health that allows for oral surgery and healing. A 3D scan and exam at your consultation will confirm whether it suits you.
A provisional arch is a temporary set of fixed teeth attached to your implants while they heal. In many cases it is placed the same day as surgery, so you don't leave without teeth. After healing, it is replaced with your final arch.
If you still have teeth in the arch being treated, those that can't be kept healthy long term are usually removed at the same visit the implants are placed. Your dentist will review which teeth need to be removed and why before treatment. Teeth in the opposite jaw are evaluated separately.
All-on-4 surgery is performed with local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide is available to help you relax. Sedation options are discussed at your consultation based on your health and comfort needs. Let us know about any dental anxiety so we can plan accordingly.
Brush your arch twice daily and clean underneath it where it meets the gums with a water flosser or other tools your hygienist recommends. Regular professional cleanings and checkups let us check the implants, gums and arch. Over time, the arch may need adjustment or repair from normal wear.
